Sardar Rajinder Singh Memorial Mukat College of
Education
for Women has been conceived as befitting tribute to the memory
of
Sardar Rajinder Singh, the Late Chairman of the Mukat Group. He
was a
man of lofty ideas who had wished to enlarge educational
activities for
women to inculcate in them a spirit of self reliance and self
confidence. The institution is affiliated to the
Punjabi University Patiala and approved by NCTE and it is housed
in a double storey building constructed over five acres of land on
Damanheri Road on the outskirts of
Rajpura Town.
The lush green lawns and beautiful land scape provide
excellent atmosphere for promotion of academic activities. The college
has excellent infrastructure comprising a big hall for seating 120
students, four large class rooms, three seminar rooms, well equipped
library and reading room, four laboratories namely Science Lab,
Information and Educational Technology Lab, Educational Psychology Lab,
and a Language Lab, gymnasium, dispensary and canteen. The lush green
lawns surround the play fields, namely a hockey ground, a basket ball hard court, two volley ball courts and a cricket
pitch. The presence of Mukat Public School located across the road
provides excellent facilities to the prospective teachers for conduct of
Teaching Practices. The student teachers are trained to imbibe in them a
spirit of dedication and guidance for the Young and budding children.
The result of our college for the past four
academic sessions has been 100% and 95% of the students were placed in
first divisions. Many of our students were placed in 'distinction'
grading. One of our meritorious students named Ritu Verma stood Ist in
M.Ed. Entrance Test for the Session 2010-11, held at Punjabi University,
Patiala. Most of our students have been placed in suitable jobs as
teachers/ lecturers in Schools.
The prospective teachers to teach B.Ed. students with
laid down qualifications by the Punjabi University,
Patiala may down load the forms
from the Website and make application when the same are invited by the
institution through newspapers.
A copy of
the affidavit by the management is placed on the website here as under Appendices
in fulfillment of para 8(4) of the National Council For Teacher
Education as published in the Gazette of India (extraordinary) Para III,
Section 4 on 13-01-2006.
